Johnson, Marsh Combine For 26 Off Panama Bench

PANAMA — Panama (10-0, 3-0) had no trouble on Thursday night despite a slow start, firing home 50 points in the middle two quarters on its way to a 64-34 CCAA Division 2 West win over Clymer (6-5).

Maci Johnson was able to come off the bench and supplement scoring along with Alexys Marsh, with the former hitting three 3-pointers for 15 points while Marsh added 11 points.

“Our bench scoring, Maci Johnson and Lexy Marsh played an unbelievable game coming off the bench and made some big shots for us,” Panama coach Jeff Angeletti said.

Natalie Angeletti finished her night with 11 points and six rebounds while Karianne Yuchnitz grabbed six steals; Lauren Barmore had five steals and four assists; and Abi Lisciandro had five steals.

Ashely Covey had 14 points to lead Clymer while Nashia Duryee had eight boards and three assists and Hannah King four steals.

LEADS ELLICOTTVILLE

ELLICOTTVILLE — Linnea Jimerson provided the spark Ellicottville needed in its 72-32 CCAA Division 2 East victory over North Collins.

Jimerson scored 25 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had four steals for Ellicottville (4-6, 1-2).

Jimerson did most of her damage in the first half with 15 points when her team took a 42-10 lead. Ellicottville outscored North Collins, 20-0 in the second quarter.

Evelyn Cortez scored 12 points while Makenna Smith and Camryn Early each added 10 points for Ellicottville.

Baylee Romano led North Collins with 17 points and Michaela Rice added 11 points.
