Fredonia’s Rey Sets Course Record; Odell Ties Mark

PANAMA — Diego Rey of Fredonia set a course record with a time of 17:05 in a three-way CCAA cross-country meet on Wednesday.

Fredonia took the boys team title with 25 points, while Clymer/Sherman/Panama had 30 and Franklinville 80. John Swabik of Clymer/Sherman/Panama took second in 17:06.

Kylie Odell was able to tie the girls course record in 20:00 as she led Clymer/Sherman/Panama to a second-place finish with 24 points. Fredonia grabbed first place with 24 points and Franklinville claimed third with 70. Close behind Odell was Fredonia’s Emily Brown, who ran the course in 20:39.

GOWANDA SWEEPS

Gowanda took both the boys and girls team cross country titles in a four-way meet at the Martin Road Complex.

Lyle Warrior toured the course in 17:34.1 as Gowanda finished with 32 points, Allegany-Limestone 58, Jamestown 60 and Dunkirk 72.

Drew Carlson was the top finisher for the Red Raiders in sixth place.

In the girls race, Lindsey Clawson of Allegany-Limestone took first in 23:13.6, Gowanda finished with 22 points to take the team win and the Gators were second with 37 points.

DRAGONS WIN PAIR

Ava Crist and Michael Peppy each brought home first-place finishes for Maple Grove.

Crist was timed in 19:48 as Maple Grove girls won easily with 17 points, Silver Creek had 50, Southwestern had 73 and Frewsburg was incomplete.

In the Boys Division, Peppy was first with a time of 17:03 as the Red Dragons had 24 points, Southwestern was second with 48, Frewsburg had 66 and Silver Creek had 93.

Kristina Peppy of Maple Grove was second in the girls race and Peter Auer, also of Maple Grove, was second in the boys race.
