Dragons Knock Off SWCS In Volleyball
Maple Grove (12-1, 8-1) took care of South Division volleyball foe Southwestern (5-9, 3-6) on Wednesday, 24-26, 25-13, 25-11 and 25-9 as Olivia Pembridge led the way with 33 assists and three kills.
Maddy Russo collected 17 kills and four aces; Bre Hill had eight kills and three blocks; Maddie Welsh chipped in nine kills and six blocks; and Emma Wirsen had 12 digs for the winners.
Angela Lunz had 28 assists, two aces and seven digs in the loss while Vivian King had one ace, four kills, and 17 digs and Aubin Cotter added three aces, 12 kills and 14 digs.
Southwestern prevailed in the jayvee matchup.
T’BIRDS WIN AGAIN
MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake is now 7-2 overall and 7-2 in the CCAA South after a 25-17, 25-2, 25-9 win over visiting Sherman (2-9).
Cianna Braymiller led the winners with one ace and four kills; Bryanna Davis had 13 aces; Maddy Harle added three kills, five aces and five assists; and Alicia Gibbons collected three digs.
The Lady Wildcats were led by Jessica Cady with three kills, one ace and two digs while Sofia Rater added five assists, one kill and two digs.
CLYMER — Panama (11-2, 9-1) took care of host Clymer (6-4, 4-4) in non-league volleyball action, prevailing, 25-14, 25-14 and 25-17.
Alexys Marsh had five kills and four digs in the win; Natalie Angeletti chipped in seven kills, one block and nine digs; Kylie Schnars added 10 kills and three blocks; Quinn Payne had four aces, six digs and 37 assists; and Madalyn Bowen had 17 kills, one block and three digs.
Nashai Duryee posted three aces, seven digs and one kill; Hannah King had five digs and two aces; and Kate Honey chipped in six digs and one ace in the loss.
