TitanX, Cummins, Libera/SKM Claim Victories

Monday’s YMCA Battle of the Businesses’ action saw the Large Division compete in the Expresso bike 2-mile relay and hotshot basketball competition, while the Small Division teams squared off in volleyball.

At the Jamestown YMCA, three-person teams from the Large Division raced each other in a two-mile course on the Y’s Expresso stationary interactive bikes.

TitanX Engine Cooling, represented by Christine Emmick, Bruno Jovannet and Logan Stakelum, placed first in the event, with a combined time of 17:24. Jamestown Teachers Association (Devyn Agett, Jim Cama and Bill Canfield) placed second with 18.03. Clocking in at 18:015 and finishing third was SKF Aeroengine’s team of Paul Bentley, Bryan McCoy and Liana Sonta.

At the Lakewood YMCA, Cummins’ Paul Card, Kurt Crytzer and Austin Wilson tallied 160 points to take the lead from Erie 2 Boces (157) in the Large Division hotshot basketball competition. Bush Industries (146) finished in third place.

In volleyball action at the Jamestown YMCA, Libera/SKM pounded the court with a win against second-place finisher GA Family Services at Lutheran in the championship series (11-15, 15-8, 15-10) for the Small Division. Jamestown Bar Association placed third.

Cummins with 615 points and Jamestown Mattress with 460 points top the YMCA’s Battle of the Businesses Large and Small divisions, respectively.

Today’s Battle events are the Large Division volleyball at the Jamestown and Lakewood YMCAs starting at 5:45 p.m. and the Small Division Expresso bike relay (Jamestown YMCA) and hotshot basketball competition (Lakewood Y) beginning at 6 p.m.
