Red Raiders Fall To Clarence
Emma Faso scored four goals in a row as Clarence trimmed Jamestown, 9-1, in Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 girls soccer Tuesday at the Martin Road Complex.
After Clarence led, 1-0, Faso scored the next four goals for the Red Devils. Olivia Grande added two goals for the winners.
Zariyon Fiddmont scored for Jamestown (0-8, 0-6) on a direct kick to slice the deficit to 3-1 in the first half.
Giocanda Calamunci made 11 saves for Jamestown while Grace Fabian had six saves for Clarence.
TROJANS BLANK FALCONER
Host Southwestern posted a 5-0 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division win over Falconer on Tuesday under the lights of Charles A. Lawson Field.
Karen Johnson had two goals and two assists for the Trojans (7-1-0, 3-1-0). Allison Lundmark, Ashley Lundmark and Hannah Sholl each added a goal in the win.
Assists also went to Hadyn Swan-Leuze, Kylie Brown and Sholl while Alanna Dibble made three saves for Southwestern.
Brianna Larson made 15 saves for Falconer (4-3-2, 1-3-0).
KIBBE STEPS UP FOR DRAGONS
Chloe Kibbe had a goal and two assists to lead Maple Grove to a 6-1 West Division win over Dunkirk.
The Red Dragons’ Adri Carlson opened the scoring with her 14th goal of the season from Sarah Berg in the second minute before the Marauders tied the game on Emilee Hanlon’s 16th goal of the season from Alex Charles 16 minutes later.
Maple Grove (8-0, 4-0) regained the lead in the 26th minute when Sydney Greiner scored from Berg to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Clare Crossley scored from Kibbe in the fourth and sixth minutes of the second half before Kibbe scored from Berg in the ninth minute. Ana Pavlock closed the scoring with a goal from Hailey Blair in the 35th minute of the second half.
Sky Tarapacki made nine saves in net for the win while Kymilondjna Nance made 14 saves for Dunkirk (3-5-1, 0-4-0).
WENGER SCORES TWICE
SINCLAIRVILLE — Three first-half goals helped Cassadaga Valley get by Pine Valley, 4-0, in Central Division action.
Anna Wenger scored from Tara Cratsley in the first minute of the game and again 10 minutes later from Isabella Ruiz. Samantha Krzyzanowski capped the first-half scoring with an unassisted goal in the 31st minute.
Sarah Meder scored from Isabella Ruiz in the 19th minute of the second half for the Cougars (2-5-0, 1-3-0).
Jessie Morrison made four saves for her second shutout of the season.
CARDINALS WIN FIRST
RANDOLPH — A goal in each half helped Randolph finally get into the win column with a 2-1 East Division victory over Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
The Cardinals had opened the season with three losses to go along with three ties.
Kara Leeper scored from Savannah Rhodes in the 22nd minute of the first half to give Randolph (1-3-3, 1-3-0) a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
After the break, Rhodes scored from Leeper in the 29th minute.
Corin Carpenter made six saves in net for the win.
HUSKIES EARN SHUTOUT
FREDONIA — Calista Heister netted a hat trick to give her 18 goals on the season as Olean shut out Fredonia, 3-0, in West Division play.
Heister scored from Lauryn Washington in the 11th minute and the 15th minute of the first half before tallying from Lydia Hendrix in the 15th minute of the second half for the Huskies (5-2-1, 3-1-0).
Kayla O’Connor made two saves for the shutout.
BARRETT LEADS KNIGHTS
SILVER CREEK — Carly Barrett scored two first-half goals to send Silver Creek on its way to a 3-1 win over Westfield in the Central Division.
Barrett scored from Emma Rice in the sixth minute and from Abby Rice in the 37th minute. In between, Kianna Brown scored from Abby Rice for the Black Knights (8-1-0, 5-0-0).
Kelly Almeter scored from Julie Smith with three minutes remaining to ruin the shutout.
Tessa Douglas made three saves in the win while Drew Schultz made 12 saves for the Wolverines (1-4-3, 1-3-0).
