JHS Suffers Volleyball Loss

The Jamestown High School volleyball team (1-3, 0-2) suffered a four-set loss to West Seneca West (1-1) on Monday in an Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 match.

Karliegh Haines had three aces and seven kills, Jenna Starkweather added three kills and 22 assists, Morgan Tracy had nine kills, and Alexa Bloomquist chipped in 15 aces for Jamestown, which fell, 22-15, 25-22, 20-25, 27-25.


Host Southwestern (1-1, 3-3) defeated Sherman, 25-13, 25-10, 25-22, in non-league action.

Vivian King led the way with six aces, four kills and 11 digs; Aubin Cotter added three kills and eight digs; Sydney Chau had three aces, three kills and one dig; and Abby Manelick had one ace, four kills and two digs for the winners.

For Sherman (0-2), Teddi Hayes and Amaya Lewczyk had three kills apiece.


CLYMER — Clymer (1-0, 1-0) notched a South Division volleyball win over Falconer with scores of 25-16, 25-23, 13-25, 25-8.

Leading the winners was Nashia Duryee with four kills and five digs, while Kate Honey collected four aces and two digs, Hannah King added three aces, two kills and a dig, and Erica Gustafson chipped in two kills and four assists for the winners.

Taylor Bianco led Falconer with three aces and eight digs; Grace Camaratta had 10 digs and four kills, and Serena Camaratta chipped in seven digs, three aces and three kills.

Falconer claimed the jayvee match.
