Frewsburg Boys Edge North Collins

FREWSBURG — Frewsburg captured its first win of the season with a 2-1 Central Division victory over North Collins on Monday.

All the goals were scored in the first half.

The Bears’ Garrett Swanson broke the 1-1 deadlock by taking a pass from Carter Smith at 32 minutes. Just prior to that, Tom Rhodes of Frewsburg scored to tie the game,1-1, on a pass from Swanson.

North Collins (1-1, 1-2) took a 1-0 lead when Alan Hornberger scored from T.J. Jimerson at 16:31.

Caleb Carr made eight saves in goal for the Bears while Tony Notha had five saves in defeat.

MAPLE GROVE STILL PERFECT

Sam Cummings starred in net for Maple Grove (2-0, 5-0) in West Division action.

Cummings made nine saves in a 4-0 win over Cassadaga Valley/Falconer.

Jack Novotny scored the first goal at 15 minutes from Tristan Spillane. Nick Brown recorded the second goal from Spillane. Novotny tallied his second from Wyatt Chriest at 33 minutes and Brown scored again with two minutes remaining.

PINE VALLEY TRIMS CLCS

SOUTH DAYTON — Two halves, two quick goals. That was the deciding factor in Pine Valley’s 2-0 win over Chautauqua Lake (0-2, 0-3) in a Central Division game.

Dakota Loop opened the scoring for the Panthers (2-1, 2-0) just 50 seconds into the game, assisted by Brock Ricketts. Only 30 seconds after the second half began, Richard Johnston made it 2-0 off an assist by Zach Mansfield.

Makiah Snyder made five saves in goal for Pine Valley. Thunderbirds’ goalies Danny Pruitt and Eric Peterson split time in the net, making a total of six saves.

CARDS POST SHUTOUT

RANDOLPH — Brett Boyer and Marcus Evans tallied second-half goals to send Randolph to a 2-0 victory over Franklinville in an East Division game.

Ty Rosengren and Bryson Rozler each had an assist for the Cardinals (2-2, 1-1) in support of goalie Jacob Bulich, who made four saves.

Trevor Clark had seven saves for between the pipes for Franklinville.

JHS FALLS

LANCASTER — Lancaster (4-1-1, 2-1) posted a 9-0 ECIC Division 1 win over Jamestown (2-3, 1-3) behind two goals apiece from Tyler Eisman and Jason Martin.

Owen Adamack, Brandon Driscoll, Zach Foley, Jovan Opacic and Griffin Venditti added single tallies. Eithan Hahn and Jake Tobolski shared the win in net.

Jordan Crofoot and Dylan Pool combined on 12 saves for the Red Raiders.

GIRLS

MG TRIMS JHS

Adrianna Carlson and Clare Crossley each scored twice as Maple Grove downed Jamestown, 4-0, in a non-league game.

Giaconda Calamunci made 17 saves in net for Jamestown.
