Ron Brown was the story for the Chautauqua All-Stars when he blanked Jamestown, 3-0, in the first game of best-of-three series.

Brown spun a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts and no walks as Chautauqua took the early edge with another game today at 7 p.m.

Bryce Jackson and Josh Loomis pitched for Jamestown, yielding just four hits with nine strikeouts and two walks.

The first run scored in the fourth inning courtesy of Lucas Willink’s squeeze bunt for a 1-0 lead.

Reece Bates singled and came around to make it 2-0 in the fifth on a wild pitch. Two passed balls allowed him to get to third. Still in the fifth, Zavon Overton had a bunt single and was knocked in by Mike Beatman’s RBI single.
