North Collins Piles On In Rout Of Ellicottville

NORTH COLLINS — The precipitation did not stop North Collins, nor its bats Friday in a 26-9 Division 2 East win over Ellicottville.

Ellicottville (1-8, 0-4) scored four runs in the top of the first before North Collins (10-3, 4-1) answered with a 14-run inning. North Collins added five runs in the second inning and three more runs in the third to get ahead 22-4 after three innings.

The winning pitcher was Rebecca Cyrek, who pitched four innings, struck out three and walked one walk while allowing seven hits and five runs, four of those are earned.

At the plate Angela Filkov went 4 for 6 with a home run and four RBIs; Alexa English was 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs; Morgan Lawton was 5 for 6 with four RBIs; Emily Winter was 5 for 6 with two RBIs; Courtney Wilson was 3 for 4 with three RBIs; Morgan Mathis went 4 for 5 with a double and four RBIs; Bri Krawczyk had an RBI and a double; and Cyrek went 3 for 5 with a double.

For Ellicottville, Evie Cortez went 2 for 2 with a double. Halie Mowery, Jessica Sheffield, Linnea Jimmerson and Pryzman all had two hits. Sheffield and Jimmerson both had a home run as well.
