Jamestown’s Gullo Earns Medalist Honors
FORESTVILLE — Jamestown’s Anthony Gullo shot an 86 over 18 holes before firing a 14 over three extra holes to win the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 golf qualifier Thursday afternoon with a total score of 100 at Tri-County Country Club.
Southwestern’s Zac Levenstein fired a 90 over the opening 18 holes and a 13 over the extra three holes to take second with a 103 while Olean’s Derek Douthit was third with an 89-16-105.
Jamestown’s Seth MacTavish was fourth with a 90-15-105 while Olean’s TJ Magro was fifth with a 92-14-106 and Olean’s JT Magro was sixth with a 92-16-108.
Dunkirk’s Christian Michalski will be the alternate for Monday’s Section VI state qualifier at Gowanda Country Club after his 94-14-108 on Thursday.
Other Jamestown scores included: Noah Turzillo, 114; Jacob Zwieg, 107; and Caden Salvaggio, 111.
For Southwestern, Max Vaughn had a 93-20-113, Jake Ferrari shot a 101 and Drake Bell fired a 95.
Dunkirk’s Ryan Thompson had a 93-17-110. Fredonia had Chris Buchanan with a 106, Nick Novelli with a 100 and Bo Huggins with a 121. Olean’s Kamdyn McClain shot a 95 while Falconer’s David Allen had a 96.
