Bowen Named Division 2 East MVP
Ellicottville junior Elliot Bowen was named the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 East Most Valuable Player after leading the Eagles to share of the league title this winter.
Bowen averaged 19.3 points, 12.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots per game for Ellicottville, which tied Franklinville with identical 9-1 league marks.
Eagles coach Dave McCann was named the Coach of the Year while Forestville was awarded the Sportsmanship Award, represented individually by senior Trent Hartloff.
Bowen was joined on the First Team by junior teammate Griffin Chudy (9.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.8 spg); Franklinville junior teammates Sam Erickson (20.4 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 2.7 apg, 2.3 spg), Isaac Kopp (14.2 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.8 apg) and Darren Clark (11.9 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 5.3 apg, 2.6 spg); and Pine Valley senior Dylan Chase (14.7 ppg, 4.1 apg, 3.7 rpg, 3.0 spg).
On the Second Team were Ellicottville junior Austin Grinols, North Collins junior Brandon Zielinski, Forestville senior Kalvin Stanbro, Cattaraugus-Little Valley senior Kellen Martin, Forestville junior Lewis Markham and Pine Valley junior Zach Mansfield.
