Devin Pope had 31 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and six steals as Chautauqua Lake beat Panama, 75-51, in non-league play Monday. On Thursday in a 86-73 Division 1 West defeat of Maple Grove, Pope had 31 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, five assists and three blocked shots.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Marissa Hamilton

Ellicottville

Marissa Hamilton had 26 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, six blocked shots and three steals as Ellicottville beat Pine Valley, 54-25, in Division 2 East action Tuesday. On Friday, Hamilton had 14 points in a 70-11 league victory over North Collins.

WRESTLING

Dylan Ingrao

Falconer

Dylan Ingrao was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler as Falconer won the Section VI Class C championship on Saturday. Ingrao pinned Akron’s Johnathan Fiebelkorn at 4:35 of the 145-pound final. Ingrao also pinned Royalton-Hartland’s Andrew Schafer in 50 seconds and Eden’s Charles Rizzo in 1:08 en route to the title.

BOYS SWIMMING

Austin Strong

Panama/Chautauqua Lake/Maple Grove

Austin Strong set a pair of Panama records en route to two wins at the Section VI Class C championships Saturday at Newfane. Strong won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:54 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:14.03 as Panama/Chautauqua Lake/Maple Grove won the team title with 313 points.

Brandon Johnson

Falconer

Falconer’s Brandon Johnson won the boys title at the seventh annual High School Bowling Challenge on Sunday at Lucky Lanes in Fredonia. Bowlers’ highest averages were used for handicap purposes and the tournament featured the Sport Bowling Pattern, which will be used at the Section VI championships.

Dunkirk
