Blanchard, Collver Headline Division 2 West Honorees
Senior guard Kaitlyn Blanchard of Frewsburg Central School and her coach, Jeff Collver, headline the 2016-2017 Division 2 West all-star basketball team.
Blanchard surpassed the 1,000-point career mark this season and was named the Most Valuable Player, while Collver guided the Bears to a 10-0 first-place record in the division. Blanchard was also chosen as a sportsmanship winner from her team.
Also for Frewsburg on the first team were senior post player Olivia Lynn and sophomore guard Gabby Iuculano.
Sophomore guard Madalyn Bowen of Panama, teammate Natalie Angeletti, a freshman post player, and senior post player Lauren Dunnewold from Clymer round out the first team. Dunnewold was named the league individual sportsmanship winner in leading Clymer to that honor.
Other sportsmanship winners were Amber Morrison of Cassadaga Valley, Emily Boozel of Clymer, Bowen of Panama, Carrie Sands of Sherman and Rachel Mathews of Westfield.
On the second team are senior guard Maddison Knapp and sophomore guard Sophia DeMarco of Westfield, senior guard Danielle Aldrich and senior guard Abbey Cole of Sherman and senior post player Nicole Johnson of Panama.
