Elliot Bowen

Elliot Bowen had 34 points, 11 rebounds, six blocked shots and a steal in a 84-42 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 East defeat of Cattaraugus-Little Valley on Wednesday. In the process, Bowen became the sixth Ellicottville boy and first since 1995 to eclipse 1,000 points for his career. On Friday in a 63-46 league win over Forestville, Bowen had 17 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, three blocked shots and two assists.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

EmmaLea Erlandson

Ellicottville

EmmaLea Erlandson had 20 points, 16 rebounds, three blocked shots and a steal in a 70-30 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 East win over Cattaraugus-Little Valley on Tuesday. On Thursday in a 69-27 league win over Forestville, Erlandson had 15 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and three blocked shots. On Friday in a 59-27 league victory over Pine Valley, Erlandson had 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.

WRESTLING

David Poff

Gowanda

David Poff was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler after winning the 120-pound championship at the Cattaraugus-Little Valley Invitational over the weekend. Poff pinned Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Michael Grey in 3:04, decisioned Fredonia’s Brandon Wallace, 6-2, and decisioned Warsaw’s Noah Royce, 6-4, before a 3-0 win over Maple Grove’s AJ Putt in the final. Poff pinned Southwestern’s Joe Morse in 1:54 at 126 pounds in Division 1 action Wednesday.

BOYS SWIMMING

Austin Strong

Panama/Chautauqua Lake/Maple Grove

Austin Strong won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59.82 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:25.70 as Panama/Chautauqua Lake/Maple Grove beat Dunkirk/Fredonia/Silver Creek/Forestville/Cassadaga Valley/Brocton, 118-57, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association swimming Tuesday.

BOYS BOWLING

Cory Patterson

Silver Creek

Cory Patterson just missed a perfect game, settling for a spare in the ninth frame before striking out for a 279 game en route to a 638 series in Silver Creek’s 4-0 sweep of Randolph in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 bowling at Hanover Lanes on Tuesday. The Black Knights finished with a linescore of 728-812-721-2,261.

GIRLS BOWLING

Olivia Corbett

Dunkirk

Olivia Corbett rolled a 215-225-171-615 as Dunkirk swept Southwestern, 4-0, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 bowling at Jamestown Bowling Company on Wednesday. The Marauders finished with a linescore of 807-906-732-2,445.
