CRCF And RHJC To Host Kidder
The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and Robert H. Jackson Center are hosting a reception for Rolly Kidder's latest book, "Backtracking in Brown Water" today at 4:30 p.m. at the Jackson Center. The event will feature a meet and greet, reflections from the author, and book signing. Paperback copies of the book will be available for $20 and hardcover copies for $30.
Fracking Program To Air Saturday
Glenn Wahl, JCC geologist, presented a program on high-volume hydrofracking at a talk sponsored by the League of Women Voters in February. Included in the presentation is a 37-minute film, "The Ethics of Fracking" by Pennsylvania filmaker Scott Cannon. The entire presentation, produced by Snowshoe Films, runs an hour and 39 minutes. The program will air on Access Channel 5 at noon and 6 p.m. each day beginning on Saturday with the last airing on April 4. Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman and Westfield areas.
Sedlmayer To Appear On Show
MAYVILLE - "Senior Report with Reed Powers" will have Walter Sedlmayer as the guest Saturday. Sedlmayer works with the Chautauqua County Genealogical Society. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner Cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek, the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

E.J. Dionne's Chautauqua lecture "Markets, Community and Liberty" will be shown on Access Channel 5. The program will air at 3 and 9 p.m. each day beginning on Saturday with the last airing on April 4. Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman and Westfield areas. Viewers should note that all area public access channels have been dropped from Time Warner's analog service, but can be received on digital service with a converter at their legacy channel assignment, or on a QAM digital television (channel varies by system) that has been recently autoscanned. Programming from Access Channel 5 (channel 21.4 on a QAM digital TV) is also aired each evening in the Town of Hanover on cable channel 12 (channel 98.3 on a QAM digital TV).
