CHEEKTOWAGA - Jordan Powers won two events in leading the Frewsburg-Southwestern boys swim team to championship of the annual Frederic J. Poff Memorial Invitational at Cleveland Hill Central School on Saturday afternoon.
Powers took the 200 individual medley in 2:05.93 and the 100 freestyle in 49.20 when the Purple Trojans Bears were first with 300 points followed by Lancaster, Amherst, St. Joseph's, host Cleveland Hill, Alden and Oakfield-Alabama of Section 5.
Frewsburg-Southwestern also was victorious in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:34.71. Jake Cotter, Tage Johnson, Alex Beckerink and Powers comprise the winning squad.
The most exciting event was the 400 freestyle relay were Frewsburg-Southwestern was second with a time of 3:30.65 while St, Joe's had the winning time with a 3:30:64. Josh Peterson, Cotter, Powers and Shawn McDonald comprise the F-S squad.
Frewsburg-Southwestern personal bests were recorded by Ollie Kohler in the 200 individual medley, Josiah Blanchard and Cole Gregory both in the 100 breaststroke, and Caleb Edwards in the 200 freestyle.
