Wintry weather and slippery road conditions caused a series of vehicle accidents Tuesday, with one Jamestown man seeking medical attention at WCA Hospital.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, Michael Southwick, 18, of Jamestown was traveling northbound on Lakeview Avenue at approximately 11:17 a.m., when he lost control of his Chevy Impala near Towner Avenue. Southwick's vehicle reportedly jumped the curb on the left side of the roadway, knocked over a small tree, broke through a chain-link fence and collided with another tree inside a cemetery.
Southwick sustained a minor head injury and was taken to WCA Hospital by his father.

Similarly, Karina Warren, 45, of Jamestown reportedly lost control of her Chrysler Town & Country at approximately 1:06 p.m., crashing into a railroad bridge at the intersection of Winsor and Chandler streets. Warren sustained no injuries.
Amy Pollino, 45, of Jamestown was rear-ended by a Saturn sedan while attempting to make a left turn from North Main Street to West Oak Hill Road. Police say the driver of the sedan- Alexandra Hall, 25, of Gerry- tried to stop behind Pollino's Ford Expedition, but slid and struck her vehicle instead.
Pollino and her 13-year-old daughter sought medical treatment on their own. No charges were filed.
Outside of Jamestown, an unidentified female driver was traveling northbound on Southwestern Drive in Lakewood at approximately 12 p.m. when slippery road conditions allegedly caused her to lose control of her pick-up truck and slide off the road. The truck flipped onto its side and came to a stop in a ditch along the right-hand side of the road.
The driver sustained no injuries.
The Lakewood-Busti Police and Fire Departments assisted the victim and helped redirect traffic.
