To The Reader's Forum:
At this time of year it's easy to get caught up in the hustle-bustle, push and shove, gimme-gimme commercialism that has become Christmas.
I work in retail, and as I head across the bridge at 5 or 6 a.m. to start my workday, I am greeted by a bright star on the opposite shore. That star helps set the tone for my day and for the season. Rather than focusing on the busyness of the day ahead, I am reminded to reflect on another star that shone so brightly over Bethlehem those many years ago, heralding the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Seeing that star every morning helps put my day back in perspective, and keeps me mindful of "the reason for the season."
So I will say thank you to the keeper of the star in Stow, and wish all a very Merry Christmas!
