Ruth B. (Buchinger) Moore, 84, of South Dayton, N.Y., formerly of Dalton, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla.
She was born the daughter of Otto and Margaret (Holmes) Bailey on April 30, 1929, in Genesee Falls, N.Y.
She was a member of the South Dayton Free Metho-dist Church in South Dayton, N.Y., and attended the First Christian Church in Punta Gorda, Fla. In years past, she was involved with the youth group at the Dalton United Methodist Church and the Girl Scouts in Dalton. She loved her winters spent in Florida, which she has done for 18 years. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She enjoyed travel, having traveled to many states.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Buchinger: and two brothers: Robert and Charles Bailey.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Moore; two children: Marilyn Burroughs and Cecil (Rob White) Buchinger; step-children: Wayne Moore, Jerry Moore, Jeff (Mary) Moore, Janice Scrivens and Cecil (Teresa) Moore; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five sisters: Gertrude (Arthur) Ruder, Grace Chamberlain, Margaret Smith, Nancy Bailey and Dorothy (David) Pugh; two brothers: James (Donna) Bailey and Harold (Carol) Bailey; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St., (Route 408), Mount Morris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at Dalton United Methodist Church in Dalton at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Hunts Hollow Cemetery.
