On Sunday, a group of local bowlers will host the inaugural Framed in Pink: Bowling Over Breast Cancer at the Fountain Bowl, 3316 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. Formerly known as "Bowl For A Cure," this charity event will support local breast cancer care at WCA Hospital and pay tribute to loved ones who have battled this deadly disease.
"I think this is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer here in our community," says Sue Lamb, event coordinator. "We all have a loved one who has been battled breast cancer. We are committed to honor those loved ones, promote good breast health, benefit local breast cancer care, and have a good time"
This bowling event will begin with a sign-in and basket giveaway at noon, followed by bowling at 1 p.m. In addition, Framed in Pink is accepting donations for pink tribute frames that will be displayed in honor or in memory of loved ones who have battled breast cancer.
