FALCONER - The Mothers of Preschoolers at the Hillcrest Baptist Church have come together to throw a benefit for Matthew Mecusker, a Falconer resident.
Matthew Mecusker, the husband of one of the group members, Brandy Mecusker, has lymphoma, a type of blood cancer where the white blood cells which fight infections transform and begin growing and multiplying uncontrollably. He also has a degenerative muscle and nervous system disease. He will need to go through radiation treatment which uses high-energy radiation to damage the DNA of cancer cells, thus killing them.
The benefit will be selling a variety of items which typically can be found at garage sales, but Brandy Mecusker said most items will be baby items.

The Mothers of Preschoolers is a countrywide grassroots movement which believes mothers are world influencers. They meet the first and third Thursday of every month from September through May from 9:30-11:30 a.m. More about Mothers of Preschoolers can be found at their website at www.mops.org.
