Eleanor B. Breth, 101, formerly of Jamestown and Falconer, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in her home in Winter Park, Fla.
She was born March 27, 1912, in Busti, N.Y., the daughter of the late Arden and Florence Denn. Eleanor was the widow of Vallie C. Breth, whom she married April 28, 1930, and who died Oct. 7, 1986.
Eleanor was a member of Calvery Assembly of God in Jamestown and Winter Park, Fla. She attended Jamestown Public Schools, and had been employed at Chautauqua Hardware be-fore her retirement. After retiring, Eleanor and her husband spent winters in Florida, before moving there permanently in the mid-1970s. She loved traveling. One of her most memorable trips was to Israel to visit the Holy Land with her daughter Lucille.

She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and making several varieties of homemade bread. English muffin bread was her specialty and a family favorite.
Surviving are five children: Arden Breth of Winter Park, Fla., Lucille Cole of Winter Park, Fla., Ruth (Tom) Roblee of Orlando, Fla., James (Patricia) Breth of Falconer, N.Y., and Ronald (Jeanette) Breth of Alton, N.H.; a sister, Virginia Mason of Winter Park, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jean; a brother, Lloyd Denn; a sister, Marguerite Laughlin; and a grandson, Sean Breth.
The funeral was held Oct. 8, 2013, in the Calvery Assembly of God Chapel, with Pastor George Cope officiating. Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park, Fla.
