Mackenzie Swartzman recorded the winning goal with time running out for Frewsburg in non-league girls soccer on Saturday night.
Swartzman took a pass from Janessa Annis for her fourth goal of the season with just 16 seconds left to give the Bears an exciting 4-3 win over Southwestern at Charles A. Lawson Field.
Brittany Feldman of Southwestern had tied the game at 3-3 at 25 minutes on an assist from Emily Wuebbolt to set the stage for Swartzman's heroics.
Feldman had scored the last Southwestern goal of the first half from Cassie Butler at six minutes to slice the deficit to 3-2.
Karlee Foti tallied the first goal from Annis just 1:30 into the game for her 11th goal of the year and Frewsburg teammate Kaitlyn Blanchard got her sixth goal from Foti at 15 minutes for a 2-0 lead.
Butler put Southwestern on the board at 20 minutes on a pass from Kristy Baggiano, but Foti made it 3-1 with her team-leading 12th goal this season on a corner kick at 25 minutes.
Libby Hartley was in the Frewsburg goal and made 15 saves while Britta Johnson was even busier for Southwestern with 19 saves.
PVCS EDGES PANAMA
PANAMA - For the second time in a row, Pine Valley (8-3, 8-5) edged Panama (2-10, 2-11), 1-0.
The only goal came at 25 minutes of the first half when Jessica Wilcox scored.
Panama had several good chances, but couldn't convert.
Becky Butcher made five saves for Pine Valley and Panama goalie Caylea Adams turned aside nine shots.
