Priscilla Joyce Elaine Anderson Thompson of 3698 Ross Mills Road, Falconer, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.
Priscilla was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on April 16, 1929, the daughter of LeRoy and Isabella Larson Anderson. She graduated from Jamestown High School and Jamestown School of Practical Nursing. She retired from WCA Hospital, where she was a very compassionate and devoted caregiver.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and attended the Best Years Fellowship at Levant Wesleyan Church. In her earlier years she enjoyed roller skating, square dancing and playing piano. She loved attending southern gospel concerts and camping with her husband, Floyd. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Susan Shirey of Columbus, Ohio, David Thompson of Celoron, N.Y., Karen (Stephen) Eckman of Frewsburg, N.Y., Wayne (Dawn) Thompson and Rebecca (Ronald) Dewey, all of Falconer, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 greatgrandchildren; one brother, Charles (Gertrude) Anderson of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; one sister, Diane Edwards of Smock, Pa.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Thompson; and her soninlaw, the Rev. Dwight Shirey.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday (Oct. 11, 2013), at the Falconer Funeral Home, Falconer, N.Y. The Rev Al Meyers will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer, N.Y.
The family will receive friends from 24 p.m. and 79 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home.
