Andrew Jesse Thomas, 36, of London, England, formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, in London, England.
He was born Dec. 7, 1976, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of Brenda Lang and William Bloom.
He was a 1995 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1997 graduate of Jamestown Community College with an associate degree in computer science.
He had been employed by Netsync and had been an overtheroad truck driver. He was currently employed by Kensington & Chelsea College in London, England, as a resource manager.
He enjoyed being with his family and friends and fishing with his grandfather and uncle. He made frequent trips home to visit family and friends. Andy had a dry sense of humor and sharp wit. Friends often referred to him as the ''Gentle Giant.'' He would do anything for anybody, and made friends everywhere he went.
Not a baseball enthusiast, you would alway see pictures of him wearing his New York Yankee's hat, which to him, while living in London, was his connection to New York. Because of this hat, he was always referred to as the ''Yankee'' by his friends in England.
Besides his mother of Jamestown, N.Y., and his father, of Jamestown, N.Y., he is survived by his stepfather, Thomas ''Tom'' Lang of Jamestown; his wife, Celeste Pattaralowha Thomas of London, England, whom he married May 25, 2001, in Niagara Falls, N.Y.; two daughters: Florence and Anastacia Thomas of London, England; siblings: Charles M. (Paige) Lawson III of Jamestown, N.Y., and Ryan C. (Trazina) Lawson of Jamestown, N.Y.; a cousin whom he referred to as a brother, Joshua D. Thomas, U.S. Army, stationed in Hawaii; his grandfather, John W. Thomas Sr. of Jamestown, N.Y.; his aunt, Tracy Thomas of Jamestown, N.Y.; and his uncle, John W. (Vicky) Thomas of Jamestown, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eileen R. Thomas; and his stepfather, Charles M. Lawson.
The funeral service was held Sept. 26, 2013, in London, England.
A memorial service will be held Nov. 2, 2013, at the Break Time, 538 Buffalo St., Jamestown.
