Amelia Sandy, licensed acupuncturist, has recently returned to the area bringing with her a unique approach to health and wellness.
In May 2012, Sandy received her master's in traditional Oriental medicine from the Pacific College of Medicine in San Diego, Calif. The intensive five-year master's degree program included training in acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine, diet and nutrition with an integrative approach toward Western medicine.
Sandy joins the practice of Barkstrom Acupuncture located in the Medical Arts Building on the corner of Fifth and Pine streets in downtown Jamestown. Sandy considers her practice to be one of body, mind and spirit treating such diverse conditions as anxiety, depression, fatigue, insomnia, immunity deficiencies, stress and pain.
Sandy has obtained additional specialized training in sports medicine and pain management.
"I am excited to return home and give back to the community that so graciously nurtured me," she said.
Her office hours will be held on Wednesdays. For questions contact Barkstrom Acupuncture at 665-5015, or to schedule an appointment with Amelia directly call 665-1011.
