For Will Lutgen
HARTFIELD - A benefit for Will Lutgen, a local independent contractor, U.S. Navy veteran and Chautauqua Lake Central School graduate, will be held starting at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hartfield Bay Cafe, 9040 Route 430. Due to illness, Lutgen is unable to work, so friends are holding the benefit to help with medical and living expenses. The benefit will include Chinese auctions and food. A $10 donation is requested at the door, which includes full access to the "Beast Fest" which includes many meats and side dishes. There will be beer available.
Genesis House Benefit Planned
RANDOLPH - Grace Episcopal Church, 21 Washington St., Randolph, will host a lunch to benefit Genesis House from noon-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5. There is no charge for the lunch, but those attending should take a new household item donation to help a family starting a new life. The lunch is open to the community. Representatives from Genesis House will be available to answer questions about their work with the homeless. There will be door prizes and a handmade quilt will be given away. Sluga To Talk Paper Trail Friday
Janell Sluga, of Senior Life Matters, will speak on ''Paper Trail - What to Save,'' when the Westside Women's Club meets at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Bethel Lutheran Church, hosted by Mary Lingenfelter, Cecile Wilson and Maxine Castiglione. Gently used clothing and nonperishable food will be collected for church community outreach program. Lisa Goodell, Chautauqua Blind Association and Rehabilitation Services director, spoke on the purpose and services provided by the association when the women's group met recently. Auxiliary To Hold Yard Sale Saturday
AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726, Fluvanna Avenue, Jamestown will be having a yard sale to benefit community and veteran programs. The sale will be held Saturday at 4838 West Main Road, Fredonia. Love Bear Project To Hold Dinner
WESTFIELD - Project Love Bear, a nonprofit organization that provides more than 200 children with new coats, hats, gloves, scarves, clothing and items on their Christmas list for the children of Ripley, will host a chicken barbecue starting at noon on Saturday at the Crossroads Craft and Farm Market in Westfield. Dinners will be served until sold out and include chicken, potato salad, homemade applesauce, roll and butter, dessert and beverage. The price is $8.50 per dinner. Holy Grounds Coffee House Set
The Tree of Life Lutheran Community at the Immanuel Lutheran Church will host the "Holy Grounds Coffee House" on Saturday. The musical group "The Crossmen" will be featured beginning at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend and hear this outstanding musical group. Refreshments will be served. There is no cost for this wonderful evening of fellowship and inspiration.
