''We didn't have any close scoring chances,'' said Coach Pat Anderson after Division III Jamestown Community College lost to Division I Monroe CC, 3-0, in a NJCAA men's soccer game Wednesday.
Monroe, now 4-1-1, scored twice in the first half and once in the second half in dropping JCC to 3-3-2 overall. The Jayhawks are 2-1-2 in Region 3, Division III.
Charlie Yang scored the first goal unassisted at 27 minutes and A.J. Sule converted a direct kick at 30 minutes to give Monroe a 2-0 edge in the first half.

David Wright had an unassisted goal at 68 minutes of the second half to complete the scoring.
Sam Torcelli picked up the shutout with five saves. Tyler Dykstra made six saves and Brent Walker three saves for JCC.
Next action for JCC is at Cayuga CC at 3 p.m. Saturday preceded by women's game at 1 p.m.
Shannon Gunnell, an outside hitter for the nationally-ranked NJCAA Division III Jamestown Community College volleyball team, was recently named JCC's player of the week.
A Falconer Central School alumna, Gunnell helped to lead the Jayhawks, ranked eighth in the latest national volleyball poll, to a 3-1 record in the opening week of regional competition. In 14 sets played, she recorded eight aces, 38 kills in 98 attempts, 41 digs and 10 blocks in victories against Niagara County CC, Fulton-Montgomery CC and Mohawk Valley CC.
