BLOCKVILLE - The Harmony Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a dinner meeting.
There will be a potluck dinner. Everyone is asked to bring a favorite dish to share and their own table service. Coffee and a cold beverage will be provided.
The meeting will be the society's annual meeting with officers to be elected.
Following the dinner and business meeting, there will be a program given by Justin Hodges. He will tell about his ancestor who served in the Civil War.
The August Dinner Meeting was held Aug. 20 and featured Busti resident Norman P. Carlson. He shared his extensive research on The Shearman-Davis Murders of 1894. Carlson gave an account of the events that took place.
Recently, the Historical Society met for a business meeting. The secretary's and treasurer's reports were given. Preparations for the fall festival, which will be held Oct. 5-6, are being finalized. Everyone was asked to sign up to make pies. The new recipe book has been sent to the publishers. The Fall Festival quilt, Autumn Memories has been completed and may be seen on display at Jan's Quilt Shop in Jamestown.
Quilt giveaway tickets are being sold by members and at the Quilt Shop in Jamestown. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. Vendors and demonstrators are still welcome to set up on the campus for the festival. There is a $20 non-refundable fee for each vendor.
The society meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. for a business meeting and on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. for a dinner meeting.
