ALFRED - Christina Rauh and Michelle Bach brought home all-tournament team honors when Jamestown Community College (6-2) finished second to Alfred State College in the Alfred State Women's Volleyball Invitational on Saturday in NJCAA Division III action.
The Jayhawks began the event by turning aside Butler County CC, 24-26, 25-22, 26-24, to avenge last weekend's championship defeat.
Rauh had 26 assists, four kills, eight digs and an ace while Shannon Gunnell had two aces, 10 kills, 30 digs and a block. Mandy Finch added two aces, eight kills, 31 digs and a block and Bach had seven kills and two blocks.
Then the Jayhawks prevailed over Herkimer County CC, 25-20, 12-25, 25-18, with Rauh having an ace, 16 assists, six kills, two blocks and a dig.
Gunnell added two aces, 10 kills, three digs, three blocks; Bach had six kills and four blocks; and Kayleane Chase recorded a kill and four blocks as the Jayhawks won Pool B.
In the semifinals, they faced the second-place team from Pool A, Mercyhurst North East, and the Jayhawks came out on top, 25-14, 25-11,
Rauh had three aces, eight assists and five kills; Finch had an ace, five kills, two digs; and Bach four kills and three blocks.
Alfred State, which won Pool A, beat JCC, 25-22, 25-21 in the championship.

JCC opens its home season with Mercyhurst-North East at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
