I sat down at my desk, and then August was over. Or, at least, that's how quickly it feels like this year has been going.
September is almost upon us, our local Labor Day celebrations are here and bad things are already happening to the Buffalo Bills. Along with local children and adults returning to school, the signs of summer's end can't be missed.
If you're celebrating a long weekend and want to get out of the house, there's plenty to do this weekend - highlighted by festivals in Findley Lake and Jamestown.
The 16th annual Findley Lake Harvest Festival continues through Sunday. Today, the festival opens at 9 a.m. and activities continue throughout the day, concluding with fireworks at 9 p.m. The Kids Got Talent contest will highlight Sunday's festivities. It will be held from 2-4 p.m.
Live music and kids' activities will also be featured throughout the weekend. The festival is located on Main Street in Findley Lake. Admission and parking are free. For more information, call 814-397-4461 or visit findleylakeinfo.org for a schedule of events.
The 34th annual Labor Day Festival of Jamestown will be held Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Bergman Park. Local vendors will serve food, and area musicians will perform on two stages.
