COOKSBURG, Pa. - The AOC will hike 6 miles in Cooks Forest today. Participants will meet at the Park Office on River Road in Cooksburg near the intersection with Route 36 at 10 a.m. The hike will be moderately difficult and will include the Rhododendron Trail, the Old Logging Trail, the Joyce Kilmer Trail, and the Cook Trail. Swiss Steak Meal Set For Wednesday
ASHVILLE - The Ashville United Methodist Church will hold a Swiss steak dinner beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children under age 12. Takeouts will be available.

FLUVANNA - For the culmination of the Fluvanna Free Library's summer reading program "Dig Into Reading," the library is hosting the puppet show "Gumshoe McMonocle and the Strange Case of Rumpelsomething" on Wednesday at 6 p.m. This is based on the story of Rumpelstiltskin. A queen hires an intrepid detective to find out the name of the little man who wants to take her son! An action-packed re-telling of "Rumpelstiltskin" done in the fashion of the classic detective thrillers of the 1940s. This is a 45-minute presentation recommended for kindergarten and up.
Navajo Program Set For Wednesday
FREWSBURG - In recognition of Navajo Code Talkers Day, Janet Wahlberg will be presenting her program on the Navajo Code Talkers Wednesday at Myers Memorial Library at 7 p.m. in the community room. The Navajo Code Talkers were instrumental in World War II. Come learn more about them and their contributions.
