The Audubon Center & Sanctuary is seeking sponsors for its Monarch Butterfly Festival on Saturday, Aug. 31.
"We're delighted to have Herbs R 4 U, Phoenix Metal, United Refining, King's Heating and Sheet Metal, and Lena's Pizza already on board," said Jeff Tome, Audubon senior naturalist, "and we're looking forward to adding to their numbers."
Tome said the hundreds of visitors who visit the festival each year enjoy all the activities and are especially fascinated by the butterflies themselves.
The Audubon Center & Sanctuary is seeking sponsors for its Monarch Butterfly Festival on Saturday, Aug. 31. Visitors to a previous festival are pictured viewing some of the exhibits inside the Nature Center. Proceeds support Audubon’s environmental education programs.
"There's something about seeing real live creatures from the tiniest eggs through all sizes of caterpillars, chrysalises, and into beautiful butterflies that is just delightful - and the setting in a room filled with wildflowers makes it truly spectacular," he said.
The event has activities for every age and those participating are reminded to bring their cameras. Sponsors receive various recognitions, depending on their level of support. Acknowledgments include having their name and logo on Audubon's website and newsletter and in the posters and publicity for the festival, free tickets to the event and naming rights.
