MARENGO, Ohio-Bemus Point's Bill Kiendl recently captured the International Bowhunters Organization's national "triple crown" for 3-D archery in the Senior Hunter Class.
The "triple crown" is awarded to the competitor who finishes with the most combined points in three different shoots throughout the northeast.
Kiendl, who earlier this year captured first-place finishes at events in Bedford, Ind. (March 17-19) and Erie, Pa. (June 14-16), completed the trifecta - thus earning the coveted "triple crown" - when he finished tops in his class at the latest shoot, held in mid-July in Marengo, Ohio.
Along with Kiendl, Bill Petransky, a national triple crown winner for his division last year, placed fifth overall in the Master Class after placing fourth in each of the first two shoots and 12th in the latest event.
