The Jock Shop overcame an 8-1 first-inning deficit to defeat Lakeview Landscaping, 15-14, on Saturday evening and advance to the Jamestown Babe Ruth End of the Season Tournament championship game.
The Jock Shop will square off against Jamestown Savings Bank, a 10-0 winner over Peppy Dental in the other semifinal, on Tuesday at Bergman Field at 8 p.m.
Trailing 8-1 by the end of the first, the Jock Shop cut the deficit to two when they plated five runs in the second. Lakeview would re-extend its lead in the fourth and sixth innings, but each time the Jock Shop would rebound to cut the deficit.
It wasn't until the sixth when the Jock Shop tied the game at 13 and then took the lead, 14-13, when Griffin Noon drove in Andrew Latona (who had tripled) with an RBI-triple of his own. Noon came around to score what would be the eventually game-winning tally following a safety squeeze by J'zon Matve.
Leading the way for the winners was Latona, who went 3-for-3 with a double and a triple and four RBIs, Noon, who went 2-for-3 with a triple, and Michael Mammoser, who delivered a two-run base hit.
For Lakeview Landscaping, Alex Schupp was 3-for-4 with a double and Kyle Liuzzo had two hits, including a double.
