Jean E. Genberg, 75, of Spencer Road, Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 3:30 a.m. Monday (July 8, 2013) in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Nov. 5, 1937, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Allen J. and Anna J. Hanson Carter.
Jean was a graduate of Frewsburg Central School, and before her retirement was employed as an inspector for the Sylvania Corporation in Warren, Pa., for 32 years.
She was a woman of deep faith and devotion to her God. She was a dedicated member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for many years.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who loved to spend time with her family. She could always be found weeding her flower beds or tending to her greenhouse.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Robert A. Genberg, whom she married Nov. 12, 1955; three sons: Robert A. (Rachele) Genberg Jr. of Ashville, N.Y., John W. Genberg and Mark E. (Gloria) Genberg, both of Jamestown; a daughter, Michele M. (Dave) Gibson of Jamestown; five grand-children: Jason, Sarah, Nathan, Josh and Rachael; and a great-grandson, Brent.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister JoAnn Flora.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be ob-served.
