Nashville recording artist Michelle Murray is scheduled to appear in Jamestown on Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. She will perform an acoustic music set and hold a meet and greet with clients, staff and visitors at Fenton Mobility Products, 1209 E. Second St.
Murray's performance is part of the "My Finish Line" music and movie tour, sharing through her music the story of former IndyCar driver Sam Schmidt, paralyzed after a racing accident in 2000. He went on to create the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation, which works to find a cure for paralysis, and is co-owner of IndyCar team Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. The country music singer became a spokesperson for the foundation after hearing Schmidt's story, and wrote a song about Schmidt titled "It Won't Be If, But When."
A number of attendees will receive a free copy of "My Finish Line," the film that tells Schmidt's story through Murray's music.
