BUSTI - Forty-four Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers met at the Busti Fire Hall for their monthly meeting recently.
The pledge, prayer and song were done.
The Ding-A-Lings, an Emeritus group, provided entertainment that included a poem, bells and singing.
The meeting was opened by Connie Whitman, president. Reports were read by Richard Anderson, treasurer, and Pennie Harvey, secretary. They were accepted and put into audit.
The group voted that one month, its 50-50 profit would go for travel fund and one month it would be used to mail out coupons for the troops. The group voted to make a basket to be used for the summer picnic at Midway to be a benefit for the Office for the Aging. Whitman should have some of the tickets at the next meeting or they will be available at the Office for the Aging. Tickets are $6.
Helen Johnson said all the money is in for the mystery trip. Those attending should park behind the police station in Lakewood. The trip will leave at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 5.
The money for the next trip is due Aug. 8. The trip will cost $92.
The group had yarn donated by Janice Streed. It also had an elevated toiled seat with rails donated to its loan closet by Carol Sorg.
Joanne Osman and Dee Johnson were pig and poke winners. The 50-50 winner was Mary Gould. There was one visitor to the meetin, Sharon Wheeler.
Aug. 20 is the chicken barbecue at 12:30 p.m. at the Busti Town Park. The $5 cost is de by Aug. 13 to Connie Whitman.
The next Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers meeting will be a picnic at 12:30 p.m. July 16 at the Lakewood Legion. Members attending should bring thier own table service, drinks and a dish to pass.
