Findley Lake kicked off its free summer Live at the Gazebo concert series last evening with a performance by Steve Johnson and Charity Nuse, of Big Leg Emma.
I was hoping to cover the performance in a similar fashion to my Artist and Venue feature, but was unable to attend the event. However, I'll likely make it to one or more of the future performances - maybe I'll see you there.
The show will continue beginning at 7 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 14. The series will also feature: Sean Patrick McGraw, July 3; James Earle Band with Jim Scriven and Skip Roberts, July 10; The Sam Hyman Band, July 17; Bill Ward and Amanda Barton, July 24; Infinity Visual and Performing Arts' Hayley Restivo, Ryan Hawkins, Oliver Burdo and Lily Ellis, July 31; all female a cappella group Serendipity, Aug. 7; and Harbour Knights, Aug. 14.
In the event of rain, the performances will relocate to the Mina-Findley Lake Community Center, 2883 North Road in Findley Lake.
The series is made possible by the Alexander Findley Community Library, is funded by the town of Mina, the Community Arts Grant 2013 and the NYS Council on the Arts Chautauqua County Decentralization Grants. Refreshments and desserts are offered by donation.
As per usual, here are the highlights and happenings going on in the area.
