Greeta L. Parker, 72, of 3754 Fluvanna-Townline Road, Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 6 p.m. Friday (June 21, 2013), in WCA Hospital.
An area resident for most of her life, she was born Nov. 18, 1940, in East Randolph, N.Y., a daughter of the late Lester Gray and the late Greeta Carter McIntyre.
She was a graduate of the Jamestown Community College School of nursing and before her retirement due to ill health, was a licensed practical nurse at WCA Hospital for several years. In earlier years, she had worked for the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was a longtime member of the Fluvanna Community Church, and will be remembered as one who loved doing crafts, Sudoku puzzles and was also an avid reader.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, John B. Parker, whom she married June 17, 1961; her four children: Gladys Parker, John Parker, Michelle Parker and Steven Parker, all of Jamestown; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a foster grandchild and her children; two sisters: Ester Kosiosec of Corry, Pa., and Joanne Rhodes of Illinois; and also three half-siblings.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Jean Foley.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer, pastor of the Fluvanna Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
