Salvation Army Food Pantry Coordinator Discusses Organization’s Programs

June 22, 2013
The Post-Journal

Lori Franzen, Food Pantry coordinator for the Salvation Army, discussed many of that organization's programs at the May 23 meeting of the Lakewood Chautauqua South Rotary. Among the services provided by the Salvation Army are its Comprehensive Financial Assistance Service, and its ANEW Center for Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center. Franzen also reviewed the Christmas Assistance Programs with the Red Kettle Campaign and the Angel Tree Project, which are projects staffed by volunteers who ring the bells for donations, and also help shop for, wrap and distribute gifts and food for families in need during the holidays. Volunteers also visit patients in long term care facilities. Members of the Lakewood Rotary participate in the Red Kettle Campaign each year.
