Susan "Susie" Stone Huber, 52, of Fredonia passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her home, with her family by her side. She is survived by her devoted husband, Todd Huber, and their cherished son, Casey.
She was born March 22, 1961, to Robert and Sondra Weston Stone, who survive her. Also surviving is her sister, Robin (James) Doug-las; her brother Robert W. Stone; and her two nephews: Christian and Corey Douglas. Her mother-in-law, Beverly Huber, also survives her.
Mr. Fredrick Huber, her father-in-law, predeceased Susie.
Susie graduated from Thiel College, in Greenville, Pa., in 1983 with a degree in English. Her graduate degree and certifications were from the State College at Fredonia.
A Fredonia elementary reading teacher for many years, she will be remembered by her colleagues, and her countless students with great fondness, not only for her ability to teach, and share her love of literature, but to bring a smile and a laugh with her ever present quick wit, a mistress of one liners.
Susie loved to study her family genealogy, was an avid reader and enjoyed all things Victorian. Along with her family, she loved her Persian cats, and was always interested in horses, as she had her own horse as a child.
A wake will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y.
A private family funeral will be held on Friday. Internment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredonia, N.Y.
