NORTH HARMONY - An Ashville man is in Chautauqua County Jail following an incident Saturday morning in North Harmony.
James G. Hall, 33, of 2502 Route 394, Ashville, was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child after Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies learned that Hall struck a 29-year-old male in the head with a shovel causing serious physical injury.
Hall fled the scene on foot prior to deputies' arrival, but Lakewood-Busti Police officers assisted the deputies in locating Hall walking on Route 394 a short distance from the scene and took him into custody.
