ORCHARD PARK - Jamestown's season came to an end on Tuesday as the ninth-seeded Lady Red Raiders (6-14) fell to No. 8 Orchard Park, 10-2, in Section 6 Class AA prequarterfinal softball action.
JHS took an early 1-0 lead in the first when Hannah Pollino walked and moved to third on a single by Kalisha Mosely and Mackenzie Martin drove Pollino in.
The Lady Quakers responded quickly, scoring two in the bottom of the first and then opened things in the third when they scored five runs.
Jamestown got another run in the top of the sixth when Kaitlyn Haines drove in Martin, but that was all for the Lady Red Raiders.
Martin went the distance for JHS, racking up five strikeouts with a walk in getting the loss. Mosley and Haines both had two hits and Jessica Pace doubled.
