BEMUS POINT - If you enjoy fresh pizza made from homemade dough and sauce, then you still have time to win two larges a month for a year.
On Wednesday, Coppola's Pizzaria, 20 Main St., Bemus Point, will be drawing the winner of the business's fifth-anniversary contest. The winner of the contest will win two large piazzas a month for a year. Second place will win a $50 gift certificate for the restaurant and third place will win a Coppola's T-shirt. Customers are entered to win each time they place an order with the restaurant.
The restaurant is operated by Mark and Luke Andriaccio. Coppola's Pizzaria is named for their grandparents and great-grandparents who left their village of Collepietro to come to America.
Luke Andriaccio tosses pizza dough at Coppola’s Pizzaria, 20 Main St., Bemus Point. The pizzaria is celebrating five years in business by hosting a drawing for prizes. First prize is two free large pizzas a month for a year. The drawing will be held Wednesday.
Luke Andriaccio said he always wanted to operate a pizza shop. After meeting his wife, Grace, in Bemus Point, he thought the community was a great location for a pizzeria. He said with help from his wife's family, Dan and Barb Vogan, and from his father and mother, Mark and Jill Andriaccio, he was able to open the business.
"My father is where I got my work ethic from. He knows the pizza business well," he said. "I want to thank my father and mother who have been unbelievable in guiding me. I also want to thank my wife for her support, and my wife's family for their support."
Luke Andriaccio said one reason he enjoys his job is his family gets to visit him anytime they want. That includes his 2-year-old son, Luke Jr.
"I also enjoy the customers. They're always a pleasure," he said. "I like looking for new ways to please people. I enjoy the look on their face when they're enjoying a good meal. It makes the work worth doing."
For the five-year anniversary, Coppola's Pizzaria will be adding some new items. That includes a new lasagna dinner, new dessert options and a new color menu. Andriaccio said the restaurant is known for its specialty pizzas. He said "The Godfather" is popular, and is topped with garlic white sauce and a thin layer of pizza sauce, mozzarella, fontanella, roasted sweet peppers, bacon, capicola, ham, parmesan and oregano. "The Undertaker" was named by Luke Andriaccio's sister, Angelica, who named the pizza while interning to be an undertaker. The pizza is a meat lover's pizza with red sauce, pepperoni, salami, meatballs and bacon sealed under a layer of mozzarella cheese.
The restaurant also serves wings, calzones, subs, wraps, salads and tacos. People can order delivery, take out or can eat at the restaurant. During the summer, outdoor seating is available. He said during the football season, he offers a pizza and wing special, and people can watch the games on the restaurant's televisions. The restaurant is open year-round and offers both lunch and dinner seven days a week from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.
