DUNKIRK -Jamestown and Dunkirk were locked in a see-saw battle all afternoon, but the Lady Marauders came through late in the game and the result was a 5-3 victory in Division 1 softball on Tuesday.
The Lady Red Raiders (6-8, 6-12) jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the top of the third, but Dunkirk tied it up in fourth. JHS bounced back in the fifth to take a 3-2 advantage, but the Lady Marauders broke things open with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Jamestown had runners at first and third in the seventh, but was unable to bring them home.
Kaleisha Mosley two hits with a triple and scored twice for JHS and Jessica Pace doubled in the first while Mackenzie Martin pitched well in getting the loss, going the distance with six strikeouts and a walk while giving up six hits.
For Dunkirk, Aimee Kaufman also tossed a 6-hitter with a strikeout and one walk to earn the win with Katie Hanlon producing two hits.
