BEMUS POINT, N.Y. - Oscar E. Graham, 83, of Bemus Point, N.Y., went to Heaven peacefully, Sunday, May 5, 2013. at Heritage Green SNF, Greenhurst, N.Y.
Oscar was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late Maurice E. Graham.
A Bemus Point resident most all his life, Oscar was a graduate of Bemus Point High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He had been employed at Valeo Inc. and re-tired from there in the early 1990s. He had been active in Boy Scouting alongside his sons, and enjoyed assisting with their scouting activities. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and en-joyed riding and cruising. Oscar was mechanically inclined and enjoyed fixing cars and tinkering on any-thing that needed it.
Oscar did God's work all his life. We don't think he was even aware of it be-cause he called it "being a decent human being." He was a patient, kind, hardworking man. He was a great and honorable son, husband, father, papa and most recently, great-grandpa. Oscar rarely had a cross word to say about anything or anyone. We don't really even remember him raising his voice. A beautiful person...a gentle soul...we love you...we will miss you.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy (Betts) Graham; his daughter, Diane (David) Pugh of Bemus Point, and his three sons: Jeffrey (Kimberly) Graham of Maple Springs, N.Y., Randy (Julie) Graham and David (Susan) Graham, both of Bemus Point; many grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at the MA-SON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, N.Y., and again on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Bemus Point United Methodist Church, 4954 Bemus-Ellery Road, Bemus Point, N.Y., from noon until the time of the funeral service there at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
