Cemetery Group To Meet Monday
The Allen Cemetery Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday The annual meeting will be held at the home of Charles Ames on Willard Street Extension. Meeting notes from 2012 will be covered, along with all new business items, including new by-laws. Refreshments will be served afterwards. All members and lot owners are welcome to attend.
Pull Is Today
ASHVILLE - Today from 9-11 a.m., the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will hold its fourth annual Invasive Species Pull. This year's pull will target garlic mustard and other invasive species at the conservancy's Loomis Goose Creek Wetland Preserve on Route 394 in Ashville, next to the Ashville Bay Marina. Becky Nystrom, JCC biology professor and Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy board director, will lead the event. For more information, email email@example.com. Pride Day Is Today In Falconer
FALCONER - Falconer residents are being encouraged to spruce up the community for the summer during the 18th annual Pride Day today. Residents who want to take part in the clean up should report at 9 a.m. to the Falconer Fire Hall on Davis Street where they will be split into groups and begin the cleanup effort. After the cleanup is completed at about 11 a.m., the workers will receive a complimentary lunch at the fire hall. The Fire Department Auxiliary and a number of organizations will sponsor the lunch.
Gerry GOP To Host Breakfast
GERRY - The Gerry Republican Committee will hold a pancake and eggs breakfast from 8:30-11:30 a.m. today at the Gerry Fire Hall. A donation of $7.50 is requested for each breakfast, with all proceeds used to support Republican candidates in the November election. The public is welcome to attend. Rabies Clinic Today In Poland
POLAND - The town of Poland will host a free rabies clinic for residents today from 1-3 p.m. at the Poland Highway Department Garage on Grubb Hill Road. This is the first time in many years that a clinic has been held in the town. Brian King, town dog control officer, has arranged the clinic. Residents may bring their dogs and cats in carriers or on leashes. A copy of the pet's last rabies certificate should be brought as well, so the animal can receive a three-year rabies shot. If no certificate is available, a one-year shot will be given. The veterinarian will be Dr. Mary Fales. Volunteers will be present to assist residents. Anyone with questions may call 338-7496.
Library To Host Bazaar Today
FINDLEY LAKE - The Alexander Findley Lake Library will host a spring craft bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the Findley Lake Fire Hall. A variety of handmade crafts, baked goods, homemade lunch and pie, a Chinese auction, raffle and free door prize drawings will be featured. Admission is free.
