TIGNALL, Ga. - Paul James Sukel, 91, of Broad River Scenic Drive, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Heardmont Nurs-ing Home, Elberton, Ga.
Mr. Sukel, a native of Donora, Pa., had lived here since 2003. He was a steelworker with U.S. Steel and an auto mechanic. A combat veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post 194 in Lincolnton. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Washington, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Grace T. Sukel; a daughter, Kathryn Ann Cook and husband, Talmadge of Elberton; a son, James Dennis Sukel, of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Richard Sukel of Florida; and two sisters: Betty Jean Eversburg of Belle Vernon, Pa., and Gerry DeFransco of Monessen, Pa.; along with seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on April 27, 2013, from St. Joseph Catholic Church. Inurnment services were conducted on May 1, 2013, at the Purification Catholic Cemetery in Sharon, Ga.
