JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPT.
David A. Spunaugle, 37, of Jamestown was charged at 12:08 a.m. on Wednesday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, unsafe backing, aggravated unlicensed operation, inadequate muffler and operating with no license. Jamestown police officers observed a vehicle backing onto the roadway of Weeks and Falconer streets and with a loud muffler. Officer made a traffic stop and spoke with Spunaugle, the vehicle operator. After further investigation and a series of field sobriety tests, it was determined that Spunaugle was intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he submitted to a chemical breath test that revealed his blood alcohol content to be almost three times the legal limit. Spunaugle is currently awaiting arraignment in the Jamestown City Jail.
Ramiro Villarreal, 55, of Lakewood was charged at 7:41 p.m. on Tuesday with driving while intoxicated, inadequate exhaust, failure to submit to pre-screen and also a breath test. Officers stopped a vehicle East Second and Stafford streets for loud exhaust. During the investigation, officers discovered Villarreal to be allegedly intoxicated. He was arrested and refused to take the breath prescreen and test. A license check showed a previous conviction for driving while intoxicated within 10 years, making this a felony DWI. Villarreal was charged and is in city jail awaiting arraignment.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPT.
Daniel K. Dunmore, 22, of Washington Street was charged with two counts of second-degree harassment. Officers on April 26 at 3:30 p.m. issued Dunmore appearance tickets after allegedly committing acts over a period of time that annoyed his neighbor and neighbor's daughter.
Thomas Nellis, 52, of Cass Street was charged at 2:45 p.m. on April 28 for third-degree assault. Officers responded to Westfield Hospital for a victim that involved in a domestic incident. Police learned Nellis allegedly punched the victim in the face with a closed fist, causing bleeding and swelling. Nellis was arraigned in Westfield Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
Garett Bowen, 20, of Ripley, was charged at 12:55 a.m. on April 28 for failure to keep right and back seat passenger not wearing a seat belt. A 16-year-old male also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and open container of alcohol. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. A youth was found to be in possession of marijuana and a container of alcohol. Both will be in court at a later date.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPT.
LEON - Dale T. Wyland, 55, of 808 Thomas Lane, Angola was charged at 10:08 p.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated over .08 percent blood alcohol content, failure to keep right, inadequate headlights and an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, after a traffic stop on the Leon-New Albion Road in the town of Leon. He was processed, released on uniform traffic tickets and is due back in the town of Leon Court at a later date.
